PV solar panels and Solar Tube solar heating systems are commonly confused with each other, which is perhaps understandable given that both can be described as solar power. The difference is that Solar PV produces electricity that you can use for your own consumption and any surplus can be sold back to the Grid

(Other area's can be initially quoted over the phone)
Photovoltaic (PV) panels can be mounted on a roof or ground mounted. Ideally the roof will be south facing, or near to at an angle of 30 degrees with the horizontal for optimum performance. The panels produce DC electricity, so a small inverter will be fitted inside the house, to change the DC into AC. A wall mounted display unit will allow you to check on performance and usage of your system.
What does it cost? What are the Benefits?
These figures assume an installation of 1kw (in all honesty, it is not really worth having less capacity than this as costs would exceed benefits in most cases. Each site is different so contact us for an exact quotation.
COSTS
200kw Module (Panel) x 5 = £4400
Installation Kit (Inverter etc) 1 x £1500
Total = £5900 (plus vat at the rate applicable)
(The above price included fitting and electrical installation)
Feed In Tariffs Payment
41.4p x 500 kwh per annum = £207
44.3p x 500 kwh per annum = £221.50
Combined Income = £428.50 per annum (Tax Free!)
Payable for 25 Years!
(Figures assume 50% of electricity produced is exported to grid and 50% used by householder and 1000kwh annually generated. The exported figures are based on EDF Energy FIT's. The actual amount you would receive could be greater or lesser than these. These figures are for illustrative purposes only and an accurate figure can only be given once a survey has taken place)

The benefits of PV solar panels are:
These are just a few of the considerations why PV panels are a wise choice.
Solar Photovoltaic panels (PV) These solar panels produce electricity from daylight through a process called photovoltaic's (PV solar panels) "Photo" refers to light and "voltaic" to electricity. Photons are converted to electrons and those same photons penetrate clouds allowing the system to work even on cloudy and overcast days.
Domestic Photovoltaic or PV solar panels for domestic consumption with your surplus energy sold to the National Grid network with a feed-in tariff. Feed-in tariffs will increase to a generous 41.3p per Kwh in April 2010. Be aware that the new feed-in prices will be reduced by 7% in annual stages as take up is increased so for Mr and Mrs average, it will be more beneficial to install sooner than later.
